Listening to at the moment…

This thread will just track what I am listening to on iPod or tres Ples on the Linn Ikemi CD player. As much for my own amusement as anything else.

Starting off today with the Fleet Foxes. Harmonies and tunes. All rather good.

9 Aug Miles Davis Kind of Blue. Yes it is.

9 Aug Lloyd Cole Music in a foreign language. Sublime, then Anti-depressant. Opening track is just magnificent.

Also The Cure kiss me. Still a fabulous album, then Disintegration. Good enough for Matt & Trey…

Also Mary Black a live DVD. Saw her live in Birmingham in 94. She has developed this constant warble in her voice which annoys the hell out of me… Also theres no Declan Sinnot in the band anymore. Hmmm….

 

August 11. Beatles, and lots of it. From live at BBC through revolver (my favourite) to Help and Abbey Rd and past masters one and two – ’shes in love with me’ cranked to 80 sounds absolutely captivating and alive – not bad for a 60’s recording,,,   oh and lots more beatles too.

 

August 13. Santana Caravanserai. Thought a lot about old Ash V and Ching Wan Lim. We discovered this together, so moved on to Floyd animals and WYWH. Then Wall. Hmm hope I never had anything to do with Rick Wright popping his musical clogs.

 

August 15 Martin Taylor “Dont Fret” No I didnt.

August 15 iPod – REM New adventures. Uplifting, strangely. Then Reveal, then accellerate. Goood in the Gym at 630am.

 

August 17 Beggars banquet. My favourite RS. Love these scallywags. Black grape. Funky

Made to listen to lots of RHCP – my boy Ed is learning bass. The peppers do seem to gotten worse over time. Still great funky stuff, mostly.

 Jeff Buckley – Grace. Then sketches. Grace is great. He is missed.

Porcupine tree. Need to buy their latest album sounds fanbloodytastic, Ed doesnt get it.

 

 

 

 

 

26th watched no direction home. yeah just not sure. Watched it and enjoyed some of it. Dylan is the man tho.

27 Sep, At home, as I write, Suzanne Vega – singing about New York. Solid 3 out of 5.
