Shane
BIO
Shane is pursuing the career of a serial entrepreneur. Looks like fun.
He graduated from Massey University in 2006 with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, having upshifted from the Otago BCom.
Often described as ‘a naive visionary’ and ‘consummate strategist’…
Currently he is working on a number of projects, having taken a counter-intuitive ’scattergun’ approach to see what hits…
He is a Director of the Southland Chamber of Commerce, director and managing director of Talking Shop, a Consultancy service, and director of an Invercargill based property development company, Oreti Limited.
Shane is a committed Libertarian, Southland Coordinator and list and electoral member for Invercargill of the Libertarianz political party.
He is also vice chairman of the Otatara Community Group, and passionate about the area.
Projects he is currently working on include:
- SeeThru, a company developing products which will increase numbers and amounts of eCommerce transactions by reducing the perceived risk by the customer. Two very exciting globally targeted products in the pipeline already, this companies products sit firmly in an exciting part of the eCommerce value chain. And its a bloody big cake…
- Private health services with some fantastic colleagues looking to get out of DHB based health services here in Invercargill… wonder why…? First product, elderly in – home support.
- A great little product directed at media providers in NZ – this is innovation and a potentially a disruptive technology which he will also take global once successfully implemented here in NZ. helps to reduce ‘murk’ for customers and advertisers in an exciting contemporary business model. this is for sale or for lease to an organisation with media capability – radio and/or internet.
Shane still plays rugby – Senior “C” for Eastern Hawks, only now in the front row. Clearly has no idea. Was a loosie, lock or even wing :-0 . But that was 20 years and 25 kgs ago…
Shane has two children, Annabel and Edward, who consume his time, his money and keep him young and passionate about life. They are typical Gen Y’s – and he says our world actually has nothing to worry about.
He loves music with a complete overwhelming passion, and is particularly fond of his hifi, which is absolutely stunning. Linn Hifi.
He uses any computer and operating system he likes, as long as it is an Apple.
He has spin-fished since he was 9, in many countries in the world. For Christmas he wants a fly rod and is going to learn. He usually catches, even when others are not. Thats just how it is. Its a competence and a passion. And he lives in Southern New Zealand.
He writes and has published under the pseudonym E Nash, (Shane backwards – with a little license). See his poetry pages.
Shane is also a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and has a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Sciences, endorsed in Drug and Alcohol, from the Otago University National Addictions Centre.
But he has done his time as a charitable trust.
Hey Shane,
Do you think you’ve accomplished enough???
How is life treating ya?

Hi Mary
Nice to hear from you!
Yeah I guess I never looked at it like that. Sadly, NZ is losing its way, so getting involved in politics as well. Ugh. Nasty business.
In our own ways we are all making a difference eh?
How is lovely Boston, dear?

Its a free country
I wish it was
A state that controls how parents respond when their children misbehave (the anti-smacking law) and requires parents to ask for the state’s permission before schooling them at home isn’t a free country.
Invercargill is a nice wee spot.
